CAAC Programs
We offer classes, workshops, summer camps, a scholarship, and festival to help promote the arts in our area. These programs are available to anyone. We hope to offer classes that are popular with the community and look forward to seeing you during these programs. Free Saturday Morning Art Classes
The CAAC offers free children's art classes on the first Saturday of every month. We have 2 classes, ages 4-7 and ages 8-12, to help the children get the most out of their class. These classes are free but you must reserve your spot as classes are limited. The classes fill up quickly, we do have a waiting list in case of cancellations. Parents/Guardians are required to assist the 4-7 age group. Please contact us for more information or go to our Facebook page.
Gwen Brooks Memorial Art Scholarship
This scholarship is available to the area's high school seniors that plan on majoring in the fine arts. This scholarship applies to all students in the area that are actively involved in the "Fine Arts" in your school or community. Applications are available here. New applications will be available in the spring. We highly encourage any high school senior intending to major in "Fine Arts" to apply.
Rock Island Arts Festival
This festival is designed to have local artists, crafters, musicians, and performers showcase their talents. This is a free event and family friendly. Our artists, crafters, and musicians will have items you can purchase. We have free art projects and activities for children. There will be food and beverage trucks/tents on property to satisfy your cravings. We partner with The Oklahoma Food Truck Championship and The Rock Island Ride. This festival takes place in the fall at The Rock Island Train Depot in downtown Chickasha, OK. Please visit the website or Facebook page for more information.
25th ArtScope - 2023 Art Scope scheduled for June 5-16, 2023
ARTSCOPE is a summer arts program/day camp for ages 8-12, designed to provide opportunities for personal growth, sharing creativity, social interaction, skill development and presentation of work in an atmosphere of culture, fun and relaxation. Teen Visual Arts Studio - July 17-21, 2023
ArtScope Studio is a summer arts program/day camp for ages 13-17, designed to provide opportunities for personal growth, sharing creativity, social interaction, skill development and presentation of work in an atmosphere of culture, fun and relaxation. Adult Workshops
These workshops are intended for adults to learn new art skills. There is a nominal fee associated with these workshops for supplies. Examples of these workshops include pottery wheel, cake decorating, floral design, writing, photography, sketching, painting and so much more! These classes do fill up fast so if you see one you are interested in, sign up as soon as you can. You can find out more on our Facebook page or check our calendar of events. 2nd Friday Downtown Art Walk
The CAAC will host the Downtown Art Walk on the 2nd Friday of the month, Feb-Sept. Take a stroll down Chickasha Ave, 1st-7th street and enjoy local artists, musicians, restaurants and businesses that will be participating from 5-8pm.
