Celebrate the 4th of July in Chickasha

For the third consecutive year, CHICKASHA AREA ARTS COUNCIL will host the July fourth FAMILY FUN FESTIVAL. This year's event is partially funded by ARVIN MERITOR. CAAC would like to take this time to express our gratitude for their generous donation towards this presentation.The official starting time is 3:00 pm and will last until the fabulous fireworks display presented by many of our local businesses.

This year brings more excitement and fun than ever! The YMCA will open the swimming pool from 11:00 until 6:00. There will be a MECHANICAL BULL and a ROCK CLIMBING WALL with both offering difficulty levels for all ages. CAAC will be headquartered in the bathhouse and will once again provide craft projects for children under the age of 12. Chalk art drawing will be available in the area behind the bathhouse.

As an added bonus, there will be a BEACH VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT. The games will begin at 8:00 am on Monday, July 4^th with finals to be completed prior to the fireworks display. Teams will compete for cash and gifts. All teams will consist of four people with at least one female, one male and one person aged thirty years or more. There is a $40 per team entry fee. Individuals are encouraged to enter at $10 per person and will be assigned to teams on a standby basis. Entry forms and fees must be submitted prior to June 24, 2008. An outdoor concert will begin at 5:00 featuring the musical talents of James and Nancy Booth and Karil and Carolyn Walker. Other events slated for the day include: mechanical bull riding, rock climbing, swimming and lots of food and drink.

There will be an array of vendors featuring crafts, novelties, face painting and a wonderful assortment of foods. This year’s cuisine includes Indian Tacos, Onion Burgers, Hot Dogs, Nachos, Funnel Cakes and much, much more.

There are only a limited amount of vendor booths still available. Booth rent is $35 for a single or $60 for a double.
