Clyde M. Becker

Clyde M. Becker was born May 23, 1882, and died on July 19, 1938. A well-known geologist, Mr. Becker was instrumental in the development of oil fields in Grady County. He also worked in mining engineering in Arizona and other states and made a geological survey in northwestern Canada.  Mr. Becker was involved in education, serving as a wrestling coach and professor at Epworth University (now Oklahoma City University), as well as serving on the Chickasha Board of Education. He was married to Bessie, also a local leader in education as well as the Girl Scouts.
