Dr. Dennis Sebastian Downey

Dr. Downey was born in 1878 in Missouri.  After receiving his medical degree in 1908 in Louisville, Kentucky, he moved to Chickasha.  Four years later, Dr. Downey and Dr. W. H. Livermore established the Chickasha Hospital and Clinic, which is still in existence as Southern Plains Medical Center.  He served Chickasha and the surrounding areas as a physician and active community member for 50 years.
